Beginning February 13, travelers headed to Los Angeles will be able to get there earlier, thanks to United Express. United’s departure will now leave Wichita at 7:17 a.m. and arrive at LAX at 8:30 a.m. The returning flight leaves LAX at 6:36 p.m. and arrives in Wichita at 11:12 p.m. United Express provides this non-stop service on its 66-seat regional jet, equipped with economy-plus seating. The new schedule is expected to be more attractive, especially to business travelers.
From LAX, travelers will have convenient connections to destinations such as Maui, Kona, Cancun, Narita, and Hong Kong.
February 13 will also be the last day that ExpressJet d/b/a Delta Connection, will provide its nonstop service to LAX. Delta initiated the service in July 2007. “When Delta opened up the LA market with nonstop service from Wichita, the flights were full, but after United began its nonstop service in September, coupled with the slower travel season, the loads were not enough to sustain the service,” commented Valerie Wise. “We hope that travelers will support the nonstop service on United so we can keep this important nonstop destination.”
