Fourth Daily Flight to Minneapolis/St. Paul; First Class Cabin Returns on Memphis Flight
Wichita Mid-Continent Airport today announced that Northwest Airlines will expand service with a fourth daily flight to its hub at Minneapolis/St. Paul. In addition, one of three daily flights to its Memphis hub will be upgraded to a larger aircraft with a First Class cabin.
The upgraded service takes effect October 31.
"Continued support of Northwest Airlines in Wichita has enabled us to offer this expanded service. We now look forward to adding a flight from Minneapolis/St. Paul and bringing back the First Class cabin on one of our flights to Memphis," said Tom Bach, Vice President of Market Planning and Airlink for Northwest Airlines. "Passengers traveling through either Minneapolis/St. Paul or Memphis will find efficient and convenient connections to hundreds of cities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia."
"Northwest Airlines is a significant player in the continued growth of Wichita Mid-Continent Airport. The response to their recently introduced services is strong indication of Northwest’s dedication to meeting the needs of Kansas travelers," stated Bailis Bell, Director of Airports for Mid-Continent Airport.
The additional flight to Minneapolis/St. Paul will be provided by Northwest Airlink’s partner, Pinnacle Airlines Corp., which operates 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets. One upgraded Memphis flight will be operated by Mesaba Airlines’ British Aerospace RJ-85, which seats 69 passengers, including 16 in First Class.
The flights are open for sale now at http://www.nwa.com/, through travel agencies or Northwest Airlines Reservations at 1-800-225-2525.
