New Flight Status Feature on Mid-Continent Airport’s Website

The airport website, www.flywichita.com, has added a new feature that enables the viewer to see on a U.S. map exactly where a flight is, what time it departed, and when it is to arrive.  The service is provided by FlightView, which receives the information directly from the FAA’s air traffic control computer system.  The information is customized for Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT), so that only flights departing and arriving ICT are displayed.  FlightView will only show flights that are in the air, and flight times are shown in military times.  The display also shows an overlay of significant weather on the map.

 “This new feature will be a tremendous asset to travelers and those waiting for passengers to arrive.  The information is very accurate and easily accessible,” stated Victor White, Director of Airports.
