(Wichita, Kan.)— Low-cost airline, Allegiant Air today announces new, nonstop jet service to the fun and sun of Orlando, Fla. from Wichita, Kan. beginning May 22. The low-fare carrier will celebrate the convenient new service to the Sunshine State, with introductory fares as low as $69* each way, when booked at www.allegiantair.com.
The self-proclaimed “Official Airline for Sunshine” will launch the new scheduled service from Mid-Continent Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport with complete vacation packages including roundtrip air and three-night hotel stay for as low as $225**. (Price is per person, based on three-night hotel stay at the Rodeway Inn-Maingate, double occupancy and reflects a Saturday departure only.)
“We are extremely pleased to again extend the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Wichita community,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled service between Wichita and Orlando.”
As the only low-cost air service between Wichita and the Sunshine State, Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route. The airline said its market research and input from local community leaders indicate the Wichita community will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Orlando as an alternative to connecting flights and long drives to other airports.
"Wichita and South Central Kansas have shown a tremendous demand for Allegiant Air's low-cost fares and high-quality service," said George Kolb, Wichita City Manager. "I know the expansion of these flights direct from Wichita to the sunny beaches of Orlando will continue to build on the successes of Mid-Continent Airport and Allegiant Air."
"Allegiant's service to Orlando Sanford will provide travelers with affordable, nonstop service to one of Wichita's top destinations. On behalf of the Wichita Airport Advisory Board, we celebrate Allegiant's success and congratulate them on adding this new service at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport," commented Charles Fletcher, Chairman of the Wichita Airport Advisory Board.
