Wichita Mid-Continent Airport Reports Busiest October on Record

Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT) reports 140,254 passengers arriving and departing through its gates in October, which represents an increase of 10.32 percent from October 2006. For the year to date, passengers at ICT totaled 1,315,369, an increase of 8.95 percent from the same period last year.  This is ICT's 13th consecutive month of increased passenger traffic.

According to the latest data available from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, U.S. domestic passenger traffic was up 1.7% through August 2007.  This compares to an 8.6% increase in ICT's traffic for the same timeframe.

"With Frontier Airlines' entering the Wichita market in October, Mid-Continent Airport now has more flight options and lower air fares, which have undoubtedly impacted this spectacular growth at ICT," commented Charles Fletcher, Chairman of the Wichita Airport Advisory Board."

Mid-Continent Airport offers 50 daily departures on over 3,600 seats, and non-stop service to 12 destinations.
