Detroit . . .
The automotive capital of the world . . .
Birthplace of Motown . . .
Home of the Lions and Tigers and Red Wings and Pistons, oh my!

And now, Wichita’s 13th nonstop destination!

Beginning May 2, 2008, travelers from Wichita Mid-Continent Airport can fly non-stop to Detroit on Northwest Airlines.  The service will be provided by Pinnacle Airlines operating as Northwest Airlink, using a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet.

Northwest Airlines is one of the world’s largest airlines with hubs at Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis, Tokyo and Amsterdam, and approximately 1,400 daily departures. Northwest is a member of SkyTeam, an airline alliance that offers customers one of the world’s most extensive global networks. Northwest and its travel partners serve more than 1,000 cities in excess of 160 countries on six continents.

“Nonstop service to Detroit will give travelers much easier access to Europe and Asia, as well as convenient connections to the Northeast.  Northwest Airlines is to be commended for the confidence it has shown our region and for offering this excellent service to our airport,” commented Valerie Wise, Mid-Continent’s Air Service Manager.
